What are TikTok stories?

TikTok stories are short videos and photos that disappear 24 hours after they're posted. They appear as a colored ring around the creator's profile picture and, unlike regular posts, they show the creator a list of the people who watched them.

That viewer list is why people look for an anonymous TikTok story viewer: opening a story in the app adds your account to it. Tikvue fetches the public story for you, so you can watch it without being logged in, and without leaving a trace on the creator's side. Read more in can you see who viewed your TikTok story?

Want more than stories? The anonymous TikTok profile viewer shows an account's latest videos and reposts too, and the TikTok story downloader is built for saving stories in bulk.

Frequently asked questions

Will they know I viewed their TikTok story?

No. TikTok shows story creators a list of the accounts that watched their story. When you use Tikvue you are not logged in to TikTok, so your account never appears in that list.

Do I need a TikTok account to view stories?

No. Tikvue works without an account, without the TikTok app and without signing up for anything. Just type a username.

Can I view stories from a private TikTok account?

No. Tikvue only shows content that is publicly available. Stories from private accounts are only visible to their approved followers, and no legitimate tool can get around that.

Why does it say the user has no active stories?

TikTok stories disappear 24 hours after they are posted. If nothing shows up, the account hasn't posted a story in the last 24 hours, or their stories aren't visible to the public.

Can I download TikTok stories?

Yes. Every story has a Download button that saves it as an MP4 video (or an image for photo stories). The dedicated story downloader page explains the options.

Is the TikTok story viewer free?

Yes, completely free, with no limits on how many profiles you check.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Tikvue runs in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux. There is nothing to install.
