Does TikTok Show Who Viewed Your Profile?

Short answer
Does TikTok show who viewed your profile?
Yes, with conditions: TikTok shows accounts that visited your profile in the past 30 days through a feature called profile view history. It's a two-way, opt-in system: you only see someone in your list if they also have the feature turned on, and in exchange, people can see when you visit them.
In practice, a visit shows up only when all of these are true:
- You have profile view history turned on.
- The visitor has profile view history turned on.
- The visitor was logged in to TikTok and opened your profile page.
- The visit happened within the last 30 days.
- Your account is eligible. When TikTok launched the feature, it limited it to users aged 16 or older with fewer than 5,000 followers, and those limits still apply at the time of writing.
If any of these isn't met, the visit stays invisible. That's why most people only see a handful of names even when their profile gets lots of traffic.
Can someone see if you viewed their TikTok profile?
Yes, if you have profile view history turned on and they do too. Your username and profile picture appear in their list of profile viewers, and they can keep seeing it for up to 30 days. TikTok may also show new profile views as an activity in their inbox.
They can't see that you viewed their profile if:
- you have profile view history turned off;
- they have profile view history turned off;
- you weren't logged in, for example when browsing in a private window;
- you used an anonymous profile viewer such as Tikvue, which never uses your TikTok account.
Stories are a different matter. Watching someone's story while logged in always puts you in their story viewer list, regardless of your profile view setting. See can you see who viewed your TikTok story for the details.
How to see who viewed your TikTok profile
To see who viewed your TikTok profile, tap the profile views icon at the top of your profile and turn on profile view history if TikTok asks. If you're eligible, these steps work on both iPhone and Android. The wording may differ a little depending on your app version.
- Open TikTok and tap Profile in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the profile views icon near the top of the screen, usually next to the menu button. Its look varies between app versions.
- If the feature is off, TikTok asks you to turn it on. Toggle Profile view history on.
- You'll see the accounts that viewed your profile in the past 30 days, with the newest first.
You can also reach the setting through Menu (☰) > Settings and privacy > Privacy > Profile views. If you don't see the profile views icon or the menu item at all, your account probably doesn't meet the age or follower requirements.

What profile view history doesn't show
Profile view history only shows logged-in visitors who also have the feature on, from the last 30 days, so the list is narrower than many people expect. It won't show you:
- visitors who have the feature off, even if they visit every day;
- people who watched your videos in their feed without opening your profile;
- logged-out visitors on the TikTok website;
- visits older than 30 days;
- how many times one person visited, or how long they stayed.
Video views work differently again: a separate setting, post view history, can show some of the people who watched your recent videos, under its own rules. More on that in can you see who views your TikTok videos.
How to view a TikTok profile without them knowing
To view a TikTok profile without them knowing, turn off profile view history, browse while logged out, or use an anonymous viewer. Each option has its own trade-off:
- Turn off profile view history. This is the built-in way. You stop appearing in other people's lists, but you also lose your own list of visitors.
- Browse while logged out. TikTok's website lets you open some public profiles without an account, though it frequently asks you to log in or open the app.
- Use an anonymous TikTok viewer. The Tikvue profile viewer shows a public account's videos, reposts and active stories without a TikTok account. You're never logged in, so your account can't appear in their profile view history or story viewer list.
These options only cover public accounts. A private account's posts are visible to approved followers only, and no viewer tool can change that. Our guide on viewing private TikTok accounts explains what you can and can't see.
Should you keep profile view history on?
It depends on what you care about more: knowing who visits you, or visiting others quietly.
- Keep it on if you're growing a small account and want to know who's checking you out, such as potential collaborators or new followers.
- Turn it off if you often browse profiles of people you know, or just prefer not to leave a record.
- Mix both by keeping it on in the app and using an anonymous viewer when you want to look without being seen.
Privacy tips
- Check your setting now. Some people turned it on months ago to see their visitors and forgot that it also reveals their own visits.
- Remember that turning the feature off doesn't erase visits you already made. They can remain in someone's list until the 30 days are up.
- Never give your TikTok password to a site that promises to show your "secret viewers." TikTok doesn't share that data, so these services can't work.
- If you want to save a profile picture rather than keep visiting a profile, the PFP downloader gets it in full size without logging in.
