Short answer
How to repost on TikTok
You repost a TikTok from the Share menu: tap Share, then Repost. The video is then shown to some of your followers and friends with a note that you reposted it, and it's added to the Reposts tab on your profile. The steps are the same on iPhone and Android:
- Open the video you want to repost, in the For You feed, Following feed or on someone's profile.
- Tap the Share button (the curved arrow on the right side of the screen).
- Tap Repost (the yellow icon with two arrows) at the top of the share menu.
- Optionally, add a short comment when TikTok offers the option. Some app versions show a text bubble right after you repost.
On a computer, open the video on tiktok.com, use the share button and look for Repost. The website doesn't always offer every option the app has, so if Repost is missing on the web, use the mobile app.
Why can't I repost on TikTok?
If the Repost button is missing, the cause is usually your app version or the video itself. Check these:
- Update the app. Reposting has moved around between versions, and old versions may not show it.
- It's your own video. You can't repost your own posts.
- The video's settings. Videos from private accounts, and some restricted videos, can't be reposted.
- Rollout differences. TikTok tests features by region and account, so the menu may not match screenshots you find online.
How to delete a repost on TikTok
To delete a repost, open the reposted video, tap Share and tap Remove repost. The video disappears from your Reposts tab and stops being shown to your followers as your repost. The easiest way to find the video again:
- Go to your Profile and tap the Reposts tab (the two-arrows icon).
- Open the video you want to remove.
- Tap Share, then Remove repost. In some versions you can also tap the yellow repost icon on the right side of the video to undo it.
There's no built-in way to remove all reposts at once; TikTok handles them one video at a time. Tools and browser extensions that offer bulk removal work by acting on your logged-in account, so only use one you trust.
How to hide your reposts on TikTok
To hide your reposts, limit who can see them in your privacy settings, or remove the ones you don't want visible. Newer versions of the app include a reposts visibility option under Profile > Menu (☰) > Settings and privacy > Privacy. Its exact name and options vary between versions and regions, so if you can't find it, use these alternatives:
- Make your account private. Only approved followers can then see your profile, including reposts.
- Remove individual reposts you don't want others to see, as described above.
How to see someone's reposts on TikTok
To see someone's reposts, open their profile and tap the Reposts tab, the icon with two arrows next to their videos. If the tab isn't there, the account has no public reposts, has hidden them, or is private.
Opening a profile in the app while logged in can show up in that person's profile view history. To browse reposts without that, and without the app, use a viewer that doesn't log in:
How to see your own reposts
Your own reposts are in the Reposts tab on your profile. It lists every video you've reposted and haven't removed, newest first. This is also the quickest way to find a video you reposted and want to watch again.
How to see reposts on a computer
On tiktok.com, open the profile and look for the Reposts tab next to Videos. It isn't shown for every account on the website. If it's missing, the Tikvue repost viewer works in any desktop browser.
Can you see who reposted your TikTok?
Only partly. TikTok doesn't give creators a full list of everyone who reposted a video. You may see an activity notification in your Inbox when someone, often a friend, reposts your video, and some app versions show a repost count or a "reposted by" label. Beyond that, reposts are counted in your video's overall shares and reach rather than listed by name.
The same goes for viewers: TikTok doesn't list who watched your videos either. Read can you see who views your TikTok videos for what creators can see.
What does reposting do on TikTok?
Reposting shares a video with your own audience without making a new post. It's a light way to recommend content: the original video, its creator and its view count stay the same, and your followers see it with a note that you reposted it. For the creator, reposts can bring extra reach, since the video reaches people who follow you but not them.
| Action | Who sees it | Shows on your profile |
|---|---|---|

| Share (send or copy link) | Only the people you send it to | No |
| Stitch or Duet | Anyone who can see your posts | Yes, as your own new video |
| Add to story | Your story viewers, for 24 hours | Only while the story is live |
